“The Gift of Empathy makes empathy concrete and doable for everyone. We all need to be heard and understood, and this book is a great reminder to intentionally consider how we can set aside our personal agendas to connect with the person in front of us.” - Dave Rueter, PhD, Director of Christian Education, Livermore, California
Please join MHC Collaborative member Lumen Christi Catholic Community for a three-part book group discussion on “The Gift of Empathy,” to be held in-person at 8:30-10:00am (after morning mass) or 6:30-8:00pm on 1/18, 1/25, and 2/1. “The Gift of Empathy” is an easy read and a powerful yet practical message on how to demonstrate empathy with others at home, at work, and in all aspects of your life.
The book’s author, Kenneth C. Haugk, is the founder and Executive Director of Stephen Ministries, St. Louis. A pastor and clinical psychologist, he is the author of many books and resources on caring, leadership, and a variety of other topics. Dr. Haugk will be providing opening comments for the discussions on video.
If you, and any fellow members of your faith community wish to attend, please e-mail or call Dennis Degeneffe (MHC Ambassador), and he will sign you up. To participate in the discussions, you will need to purchase the book to read in advance for $7.00 (which is an $8.00 discount from its published price).
